It was several days later that Saionji returned to the surface. He rose slowly out of the water, taking a careful breath of air. The transition from water to air was a bit difficult sometimes. It took him a couple of minutes to get used to the change.
After regulating his breathing, Saionji swam over to his usual spying spot. The mer-boy grunted as he pulled himself up onto the boulder. He shifted his tail into a sitting position once he was on top of the large rock. Saionji pouted when he saw that his human “specimen” was not atop the cliff where he usually practiced Kendo.
